Zona (Appelbaum) Fishkin passed away peacefully October 18, 2018, in Brookline, Massachusetts at the age of 94. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Zona grew up in Washington DC. She attended George Washington University in Washington, and met her husband Joe while he was stationed there in the Navy. They were married for more than 60 years and made their home together in Metuchen, New Jersey, until his death in 2008. She was fiercely devoted to Joe, her sons Ken and Marty, daughter-in-law Lynda Roseman, and her grandchildren Ben, Bradley, William, Rebecca, Carly, Caroline and Adele, and beloved by them. Active in her community and synagogue, she served as president of the PTA and, for many years, as a member of the Juvenile Justice Commission. Funeral will be private.
