Obituary of Zoltan Z. Morvay


Zoltan Z. Morvay, 87, of Lakewood, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, FL surrounded by his dear family. Mr. Morvay was born in Moosar, Czechoslavakia to the late Zigmund and Elizabeth (Csorgo) Morvay and had resided in Lakewood for the last eighteen years.

Mr. Morvay was a US Marine Corps Veteran of Korean war.

He attended Elmhurst College and was a supportive alumnus for over fifty years.

Mr. Morvay devoted his life to education. He was employed in the field for forty-two years, serving the Perth Amboy Board of Education as the Guidance Director and was also the Principal of Piscataway High School before his retirement in 1994.

He was a member of the Church of Brielle. Zoltan was a member of the Kiwanis Club and was also a member of the Florida Sheriff's Association and enjoyed the fellowship and friendships of the Hungarian Club and Church in Florida.

In addition to his parents, Zoltan was also predeceased by his step-father Stephen Takacs.

Zoltan was a very caring and loving family man. He is survived by his beloved wife of twenty years, ILona (Baksa) Morvay, his three sons: Zoltan Morvay and wife Risako of New Milford, Robert Morvay of St. Petersburg, FL and Ronald Morvay and wife Ellah of North Plainfield, NJ, his two daughters: ILona Sucs and husband Laszlo of Mandok, Hungary and Katalin Babici and husband Cornel of Manalapan, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren and his cousins Lester and Manic Kozma and Olga Nowitzke. He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2016, 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Interment will follow in the Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodbridge. Visitation hours will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
