Obituary

Yvette Alvarado-Colon, 65, of Hopelawn, passed away at home on September 3, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 9, 1955, in Manhattan, NY. She was a resident of Piscataway for 28 years and spent the last four years in Hopelawn. Yvette was a licensed clinical social worker with a Masters Degree from Rutgers University. Yvette retired in 2014 from the Office of Aging in Woodbridge Township. She was a member of Metuchen Assembly of God in Metuchen.
Yvette is predeceased by her loving parents, mother Virginia Alvarado who passed away in 2014 and father Eladio Alvarado who then passed away in 2015.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Colon, of Hopelawn; and her children, son Alejandro E Colon-Alvarado and daughter in-law Allison Colon-Alvarado; daughter Victoria Colon-Alvarado; and daughter Clarizsa Tepedino and son in-law Anthony Tepedino of Monroe. She also leaves behind her two grandchildren Anthony and Aiden Tepedino. Last but certainly not least, her dogs Chula and Leyla.
Services are entrusted to Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Cremation will be private
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations in her name to Bethel Christian Church, 185 Hall Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ
