Yazmin Chas, 52, of Metuchen, passed away on October 1, 2013, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in New York City, she was a resident of Metuchen for the past 17 years. She was a communicant of and Lector at St. James R.C. Church, Committeeperson for the St. James Street Fair and PTA President for Menlo Park Terrace School. She was employed as a Customer Service Representative at Aerosoles Footwear and Quick Check in Edison.
Yazmin was predeceased by her mother, Ramona Mendoza. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Josè Chas; daughters, Kassandra Chas and Madison Chas, both of Metuchen; sons, David Perez and wife Cheryl of North Brunswick, Alberto Chas and Fredric Chas of Metuchen; grandchildren, Jason and Kyleigh Perez; and a sister and brother-in-law, Soraya and Robert Spagoni of Queens, NY.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 4, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Funeral Liturgy at St. James R.C. Church in Woodbridge. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge.
