William J. Zupko Sr., of Perth Amboy, passed away on July 22, 2026, at Millennium Memory Care in Holmdel. He was born in Perth Amboy on August 14, 1930. Bill was an Elementary School Teacher for the South Amboy Board of Education, teaching 5th Grade English and History. He attended Scranton University on a football scholarship and was drafted into the US Navy. He served as a Corp’sman during the Korean War. Upon being discharged he graduated from Monmouth College and finished his degree in Education. Bill enjoyed traveling camping and cross-country trips with his family in their Travel Trailer. He loved his many dogs.

Bill was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Joyce (nee Bauer) Zupko in 2014.

He is survived by two sons, William J. Zupko Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of Fords; and Roger Zupko, and his wife, Constance, of Bound Brook; four grandchildren: Bill, Joseph, Joshua, and Quinn; two great-grandchildren, Flynn and Violet; and a sister, Barbara Skokan, of Perth Amboy and multiple nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 5-8pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, 9:45 am at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Holy Rosary Church in Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery.
