William S. Kolojay 90, of Fords, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Jersey City and has resided in Fords for the past 56 years.
Bill was a service station owner in Fords for 27 years before retiring. He had previously worked at Hercules Powder Co. in Parlin for 10 years.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords and a member of the Holy Name Society at the church. Bill was a former member of the Moose Lodge in South River. He was an avid Giants football fan and held a commercial pilots license.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy A. Nebus, in 2004. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Thompson and her husband John of Alpharetta, GA, and Ann Warger and her husband Kenneth of Branchburg; his grandchildren: Christin Thompson, Jana Avramidis, and Sarah Chivaroli; his great- grandchildren: Abigail, Joshua, and Elijah Thompson, and Judea Chivaroli; and his nephew, Jack Ploskonka and his wife Barbara and their family.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 27, 2012, from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, August 28, at 8:30 am followed by a 9:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Interment will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
