William Deverin, 86 of Metuchen, passed away on July 23, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Bill had lived in Metuchen for 50 plus years. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Atlantic and European Theaters. He was a member of the VFW Post #6090, Fords. Bill was a retired shipping and receiving clerk for National Metals, Carteret. He was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1943.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, William and Helen Deverin, and a brother Donald R. Deverin.
He is survived by his two nieces, Diane Goracy and her husband Alan of Glen Gardner and Jane Molter and her husband Bert of Kentucky; five great nieces and nephews, Jamie, Kristen, Lauren, David and Donald; one great-great nephew, Chaytan.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 9:30 AM from Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen followed by a 10:15 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, Metuchen. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the funeral Home.
