Obituary

Wayne L. Konnyu, 61, of Edison entered into eternal rest December 4, 2010, at the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

He was born in Perth Amboy and resided in Edison all of his life. Wayne was employed as a Science and English teacher at Bishop George Ahr High School in Edison for 21 years where he also directed many Shakespeare plays and co-directed and performed in many musicals and dramas at the school. He was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Perth Amboy and served in the Navy for 10 years during the Vietnam War.

Wayne is survived by 2 sisters: Marlene Lesniak of Menlo Park Terrace, Lorraine Reedinger and her husband Dave of Edison; brother, Robert A. and his wife Janeen of Melbourne, Florida; his niece and nephews: Victoria and Paul Konnyu, Jason Lesniak, Chad Lesniak and his wife Jennifer, Brian Reedinger and his wife Laura, and David Reedinger and his wife Jaira; 2 grand-nephews and 1 grand-niece.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at 9:30 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 10:00 am service of Divine Liturgy at St. Michael's Church. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, December 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with Parastas at 7:30 pm.

Contributions are requested to Bishop George Ahr High School in lieu of flowers.
