Walter C. Ross, 80, passed away on March 31, 2021, at Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay, Perth Amboy.  Son of the late Charles and Mildred Ross, he was a life-long resident of Perth Amboy.  Walter was an English Teacher at Our Lady of Peace School, Fords before becoming a Perth Amboy Firefighter.  He served as a Firefighter for 28 years, retiring in 1994.  After retirement, Walter worked part-time for Flynn and Son Funeral Homes as a Funeral Assistant.  He was a faithful communicant of Most Holy Rosary Church of Good Shepherd Parish, an active member of the Holy Name Society, an Usher of the church and active in many of the church's fundraisers.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #299, Perth Amboy.

Walter is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie (Paone) Ross; his son, Charles W. Ross and his wife, Patty; his daughter, Lisa M. Savoia; five grandchildren: Samantha, Olivia, Sydney, Sean and Shane; his sister, Carol Sobriej; his brother, Charles Ross; his stepfather, Vincent Kryzanowski; a niece and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Most Holy Rosary Cemetery, Hopelawn.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Robert Wood Johnson Cancer Institute.
