Vincent L. Ahrens, age 75, entered eternal rest on January 17, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He was born on March 23, 1950, in Perth Amboy, NJ, to the late Oscar and Edna (Larsen) Ahrens.
Raised in Fords, NJ, Vincent was a graduate of Woodbridge Vocational School, Class of 1970. Following high school, he began a long and dedicated career with the Sanitation Department of Woodbridge Township, where he worked his way up to the position of Sanitation Supervisor before retiring.
A devoted member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fords, NJ, and a volunteer with the Fords Fire Company, Vincent was deeply rooted in his local community. He was well known for his love of 1950s–1960s oldies music, the Boston Celtics and Dallas Cowboys, collecting vinyl records, and his passion for bowling. Vincent resided in Parlin, NJ, with his wife, Kathy, where they enjoyed traveling together on bus trips to plays, concerts, and musicals.
Vincent was predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Edna (Larsen) Ahrens.
Surviving Vincent are his beloved wife of 41 years, Kathy Ahrens; his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and James Kusmider; his two grandchildren, Brooke Tribus (formerly Kusmider) and Devin Kusmider; his two brothers, Oscar Ahrens and Ken Andersch; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will take place at 6:30 PM during visitation at the funeral home and will be officiated by Pastor Chris Sadlo of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Vincent's memory may be made to the Fords Fire Company or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
