Veronica M. Peterson, 86, of Fords, passed away on May 1, 2020, at JFK Medical Center. She was born on July 30, 1933 in Fords and was a lifelong resident.  She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church. She belonged to the MT Squares, square dancing club. Veronica was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Veronica was predeceased by a sister, Marion Gural; and two brothers, Robert and Vincent Schmidt.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Norman C. Peterson, of Fords; two sons, Norman C. Peterson, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Glen Gardener, and Thomas J. Peterson, and his wife, Nancy, of Colonia; two daughters, Eileen Petrisin, and her husband, Steven, of Woodbridge, and Patricia Kaczowski, and her companion, Michele, of PA; 10 grandchildren: Norman III, T.J., Allison, Michael, Stacey, Valerie, Sherry, Rebecca, Joseph, and Kayla; 9 great-grandchildren: Shane, Norman, Giana, Aria, Aurora, Evelyn, Wesley, Logan, and Luke; and a brother, John Schmidt.

Entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens was private.

Memorial contributions in Veronica's name may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
