Valerie Breyta, 76, of Perth Amboy, passed away May 18, 2016, after a long fought battle with Parkinson's at the Venetian Nursing Home in South Amboy. She was a life-long resident of Perth Amboy and a graduate of Perth Amboy High School Class of 1957. Valerie was a communicant at Holy Spirit Church of the Good Shepherd Parish and an active member of the Holy Rosary/Good Shepard Seniors Club. She was a long-time member of the Perth Amboy Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. Valerie was also a volunteer at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy and a member of the RBMC Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, sailing on cruises, AC, and especially liked being around friends and family. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.

Valerie is predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Breyta, who passed in 2001; her parents Emery and Anna Hajzer; her in-laws Joseph J. and Mary Breyta, her brothers: James and Joseph Hajzer; her sisters: Anna Leone, Margie Neal, Helen Pavlics, Muncie Yanoso and Irene Fuzak.

She is survived by her sons, Robert J. Breyta, Jr. and his wife, Daniele, of Robbinsville; Joseph J. Breyta, II and his wife, Yokasta, of Metuchen and John Breyta and his wife, Jennifer, of Barnegat; a brother, Richard Hajzer, of Monroe; sister, Elsie Hardish, of Hopelawn; sister-in-law Carole Merlo and her husband, Vincent, of Colonia and seven grandchildren: Joseph, Nicole, Ryan, Claire, Jonathan, Kiersten and Erin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 8:45am from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, followed by a 9:30 am Mass at Holy Rosary Church of Good Shepherd Parish, Hopelawn. Entombment will be in St. Gertrude Mausoleum, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 4-8 pm.

Memorial donations may be made in Valarie's memory to the Holy Rosary/Good Shepherd Seniors Club.
