Obituary

From Tracey's family and friends

Tracey was born on March 2, 1963, and sadly passed away suddenly, on January 5, 2020.

All who knew Tracey felt her joyful and her determined spirit. She was known for her huge heart, great sense of humor, and strong faith in God. Many will remember Tracey for giving the best hugs and providing them with a hearty laugh when they needed it the most. The legacy she leaves is one of love, compassion, and commitment. She bought light and energy into every room she entered. Our hearts are broken on the loss of our sweet, funny Tracey.

Family was everything to Tracey and she was dedicated to her loved ones entirely. Tracey adored her mother, Jeanette, and took great pride in enjoying their daily life together. The bond she shared with her daughter, Cynthia, provided her with a sense of peace and comfort. Tracey's two sisters, Laura and Susan, were very special to her. She appreciated her family thoroughly for their encouragement and support. Tracey enthusiastically and thoroughly embraced every moment she spent with her grandson Kevin who will forever hold a special place in her heart.

Tracey also considered the recovery community as her family and was a devoted member of her fellowship.  Tracey served as a tremendous source of guidance and encouragement to countless individuals. She was always willing to open her heart and give her time to anyone in need. There are so many people Tracey helped during her time here on Earth that it is simply not possible to list everyone whom she cherished – but everyone she took the time to listen to, share with, care about and provide a kind action toward will carry her in their hearts forever. Tracey spread love everywhere she went. She lived an honest, open and willing life.

Almost 10 years ago, Tracey went back to school. She embraced her fear of not being able to learn, only to prove to herself that not only could she learn – she could thrive as a student! Tracey was inducted to the Phi Theta Kappa honor society of Middlesex County College for academic excellence. With her passion for helping others, it was no surprise that she enjoyed studying Counseling Psychology. Once she realized that she was, indeed, very good at school, she transferred to Rutgers University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor's in Social Work in 2018.

Recently, Tracey has been working at RWJ Barnabas Health as a Recovery Specialist. In this role, Tracey joined her life experience with her education and training, providing hope to individuals struggling in life and guiding them toward a path of recovery. Her dedication and compassion for the work she gave to others was unbridled.

Tracey is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Tipaldo, grandson Kevin, her mother, Jeanette Maloney, her sisters, Laura Yaftek-Jones and Susan Winchock , brothers in law Wayne and Eric and nephews Christopher and Ryan along with many wonderful, caring friends.
