Timothy John
Leahy
May 9, 1989 – April 13, 2026
Timothy John Leahy, 36, of Edison, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family after a long and courageous battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. His strength, resilience, and enduring spirit were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Born and raised in Edison, Timothy was a proud member of his community and a graduate of Edison High School. He continued his education at Middlesex County College and DeVry Institute, always striving to learn, grow, and engage with the world around him. Despite the challenges he faced, Timothy approached life with quiet determination and a warm heart that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Above all else, Timothy cherished his family. He is survived by his father, Timothy, who never left his side; his beloved grandmother, Jean Leahy; his uncle, Stephen Leahy; his aunt, Victoria Leahy; her son and his cousin, John; his mother, Victoria (Guenther); his stepmother, Renee Leahy; and many extended family members who will forever hold him close in their hearts. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Jack, who adored him, and his uncle, Michael.
Timothy will be remembered for his gentle nature, his quiet sense of humor, and the grace with which he faced life's difficulties. He also found great joy in sports, especially horse racing and cheering on the Mets. In a final act of generosity and compassion, Timothy chose to donate his organs, offering the gift of life to others and leaving a legacy of kindness that reflects the very best of who he was.
