Thomas J. Stewart, 79, of Edison, passed away on October 15, 2014, at the Pine Brook Nursing Home in Englishtown. He was born on June 8, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. Thomas was a resident of Edison for over 30 years. He was a Route Salesman for Pechter-Fields in Brooklyn for more than 35 years and a member of Teamsters Local 802. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church and a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years, Geraldine (nee Loesch) Stewart of Edison; two sons, Thomas Stewart and his wife, Julie of Middletown; Scott Stewart and his wife, Theresa of Bronx, NY; daughter, Christine Palumbo of Edison; six grandchildren, Lisa Marie Shipe and her husband, Vincent; Thomas John Stewart III and his wife, Brianne; Gina Marie Ronca and her husband, Scott; Christopher Scott and his fiancé, Amanda; Jennifer Stewart; and Emily Stewart; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace Shipe and Thomas John Stewart IV; two brothers, Charles and Edward Stewart of NY; sister, Barbara Massicotte of Ontario, Canada.
Visitation will be Friday, October 17, 2014, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Saturday 8:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a 9:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
