Thomas Louis Musanti, Sr., 91, of Woodbridge, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
Born and raised in New York City, Tom lived in Belleville for many years before settling in Woodbridge in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army 7th Infantry during WWII in the Aleutian Islands. He was employed by Hertz Corporation of New York City for 35 years before working for Westinghouse in Edison, where he retired in the mid 80's. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0471 of Iselin and a long-time communicant of St. James RC Church of Woodbridge. Even though he lived in NJ for many years, Tom was always a New Yorker at heart.
Predeceased by his wife Caroline in 1989, and his brother Joseph in 2003, he is survived by his daughters, Eileen Ellsworth, Joanne Silva and her husband Thomas and, Dianna Munn and her husband Howard, all of Woodbridge and Lisa Evan and her husband John of Fords; his sons, Thomas L. Musanti, Jr. and his wife Georgean of Connecticut and, Michael Musanti and his wife Maryam of Florida; his brother Louis Musanti of Staten Island, NY; his loving grandchildren: Brian, Amy, Maegan, William, Kristi, Murielle, Michael, Kyle, Caroline, Myles, and Thomas John, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 AM Saturday from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 9:45 AM Mass of Christian Burial from St. James RC Church, Woodbridge. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 25, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
