Thomas C. Gianni, 89, of Fords died May 4, 2010, at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center,Edison. Born October 13, 1920, in Bayonne, he resided in Fords for 48 years.

Mr. Gianni retired from Woodbridge Township Department of Public Works Roads Department. He was a veteran of WWII and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace RC Church, a Member of Our Lady of Peace Knights of Columbus Council 9199, 4th Degree Knight with St. Cecelia RC Church Knights of Columbus Council 0681 Iselin, and VFW Post 2636 Iselin.

He is predeceased by his wife, Carmella (Marina)in 2002. Surviving family members include:
his son, Thomas and his wife Christine of Croyden, PA; his daughter, Sharon Whitman and her husband Robert of Stewartsville; 4 grandsons - John Thomas and his wife Nicole, TJ, Christopher and Thomas; 1 great-grandchild, Lex;
1 brother, Joseph; and 1 sister, Marie Vasconi.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 AM Saturday May 8, 2010 from FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ, followed by a 9:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords. Entombment to follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, NJ.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his family.
