Thomas J
Deverin, Jr.
October 1, 1952 – December 23, 2022
Thomas J. Deverin, Jr., 70, passed away at JFK Medical Center on December 23, 2022.
Tom was born in Perth Amboy to the late Lillian Coughlin and Thomas J. Deverin, Sr. He was a graduate of Rutger's University.
He married the love of his life, Patricia Donahue, in 1989. They were later blessed with twin sons, Daniel and Michael. While his sons were growing up, Tom was a volunteer coach for their youth sporting activities. He enjoyed the time he spent with them and their friends within the community. He also enjoyed volunteering with various pet adoption agencies. His dogs, Buddy, Lucy, and Benny, were a big part of his life. The major part of Tom's career was spent working at Bridgewater Commons Mall, where he was a Senior Operations Manager. He retired in 2019 after 25 years of service.
Tom was an avid sports fan who loved watching the NY Mets and the NY Jets. He also was an enthusiast of all genres of music and a lifelong movie fan. He would often walk into a room singing a song or crooning a little made-up tune of his own. He was always quick with a movie quote for almost any situation. However, his greatest joy was being "Pop-Pop" and cherishing the time he spent with his two beautiful granddaughters, Mia Carmina and Olivia Shea.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Patricia Deverin; his twin sons: Daniel, his wife Gabrielle, and Michael, and his partner Megan De Vizio; granddaughters, Mia and Olivia Deverin; his twin sisters: Nancy Werner and her husband, William and Patricia Deverin and her husband William Koegel, and a loving extended family of cousins, in-laws, and many nieces & nephews too numerous to mention here.
There will be a memorial visitation at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, from 4:00P – 7:00p and on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, from 10:00am until the start of the memorial service at 11:00a.
