Theresa (Sydorko) Baldyga, 94, of Fords, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Roosevelt Care Center in Edison.
Mrs. Baldyga was born in Perth Amboy to the late John and Mary Tkacz Sydorko and was formerly a resident of Perth Amboy before moving to Fords many years ago. She graduated in 1962 from St. Michael's School of Nursing in Newark and had been employed for 23 years as a Registered Nurse in Perth Amboy General Hospital, currently known as Hackensack Meridian at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, before retiring in 1985. She had been a parishioner of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church of the St. John Paul II Parish in Perth Amboy. Theresa enjoyed traveling and going on group trips to Atlantic City.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Baldyga, Sr.; her son, Edward "Buddy" Baldyga, Jr.; her sisters: Anna Sobczyk, Mary Sydorko, and Kathryn Sepcsik; and her two brothers, Steven and John Sydorko.
Surviving are her son, Brian; her two sisters, Eva Kalinowski of Edison, NJ, and Martha Johnson of Hillsborough, NJ; her daughter-in-law, Diane Baldyga of Sayreville; her cousin, Edward Lencki of Piscataway; and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, at 10:00 am followed by an 11:00 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Stephens RC Church, of the St. John Paul II Parish, 490 State Street Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Interment will follow in the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption Cemetery in Hopelawn, NJ.
