Theodore J. "Teddy" Dovel, 12, of Edison, passed peacefully, with the love of his family at his side, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at St. Peters University Hospital, New Brunswick, from complications of Cockayne Syndrome.

He was born in Newark, and had resided in Edison for the last 8 years. Teddy was currently a 6th grade student at the John Adams Middle School in Edison, and was a member of the "Share and Care Foundation".

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Theodore Butth.

Teddy leaves behind his beloved parents, James and Dottie Ann Dovel, and his three brothers; Joseph M. and Jeffrey M. of Urbana, OH, and Jeremy E. of Edison, his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Nagle of Fayetteville, NC, his paternal grandparents; Roy and Patricia Dovel of St. Paris, OH, his aunt and uncle, April and Evan Solotist of Randolph, and his best friends; Cosmo Gentile and Lisa Gagliano both of Edison.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 1-4 pm & 6-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863. Cremation will follow privately.
