Theodore "Teddy" Kalamaras , 76, of Parlin, passed peacefully, with his loving family at his side, on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel .

He was born in Anavriti, Greece, immigrated to the U.S. as a young boy, settling in Perth Amboy, with his family and has resided in Parlin for the last 40 years.

He was a retired chef, and a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy. He enjoyed traveling to Greece and Atlantic City and his passion was spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren and family.

He was predeceased by his 2 brothers, Jimmy and Nick Kalamaras and his son in law, Tom Zangas who died in 2011.

Teddy leaves behind his beloved wife, Maria (Griva) Kalamaras, his two devoted daughters, Grace Robas and her husband, Peter of Bridgewater and Connie Diller and her husband Roger, of Old Bridge, his two dear sons, Peter T. Kalamaras and his wife Christine of Apache Junction, AZ and Emanuel Kalamaras of New York City, his five beloved grandchildren, Alexandra and Christina Robas and Teddy, Angela and Christopher Kalamaras, his brother George Kalamaras in Greece, and his sisters, Georgia Chahalis of Maryland and Nicoletta Duval of Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. from the Flynn & son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863 followed by a 2 p.m. Service of Divine Liturgy at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Perth Amboy, interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 6:30 p.m.
