Tessie Vosinakis

Tessie Vosinakis, 94, of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, died Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the Heritage at Clara Barton in Edison. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1932, she lived in Sparta, Greece, during WWII. She moved back to Brooklyn and graduated from Bay Ridge High School in 1951.

When she married her husband, Alex, in 1955, they resided in Jersey City before moving to Perth Amboy 67 years ago. Tessie and her husband Alex were the owners of Al's Drive-In & Pizzeria on New Brunswick Avenue in Perth Amboy for more than 38 years. Tessie was a parishioner of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and a member of their Philoptochos Scoiety.

Mrs. Vosinakis was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Georgia (nee Iatropoulou) Pappas; her sister, Mary Georgiou; her husband, Alex, who passed in 2010; and her son, Basil, who died in 1996.

She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Veiga and her husband, Glenn, of Metuchen and her son, Ernest Vosinakis and his wife, Maureen, of Maryland. She was the loving grandmother of Anastasia, Alex, and Claire.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November, 8, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. On Monday, November 9, a funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a 10:00 AM Divine Liturgy at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
