Obituary

Terrence Bazylewicz passed away on September 18, 2019. Terry was born in Stuttgart, Germany and emigrated to Perth Amboy, NJ with his parents when he was two years old. He attended Woodbridge High School where he played football, and after high school attended Montclair State University. During college, he spent a semester at Cal State Chico. That trip out west on the Zephyr train began his lifelong love of California. It was also during college that he met his devoted wife, Beverly. Together they spent 49 years together and had two children, Kimberly and Kristian.

Terry began his career as a history teacher but decided to pursue information technology at a time in the 70's before computers were a part of everyday life. He worked at several colleges including Columbia University, Jersey City State College, University of Southern California, and Catholic University. He spent his later career years as both a CIO and consultant. He loved the work as it brought him many lasting friendships and a few stints back to his beloved California.
Terry deeply enjoyed the close bonds of friendship that he made throughout his life. He kept friendships alive from childhood and made new friendships that he cherished at each stage of his life.

Terry had a deep love of travel and airplanes. He was never home long from one trip before he'd start to plan the next adventure. The only reason he kept coming home, aside from family, was for his beloved dogs. He had many furry companions throughout his life, which are now keeping him busy in Heaven, especially his beloved Old English Sheepdogs. There was never such a thing as a spoiled dog to Terry, he loved doting on all of them.

Terry's favorite role came when he became a grandfather. His two grandchildren, Drew and Amelia were the absolute light of his life, and he, theirs. He relished being their partner in crime and teaching them things their mother would disapprove of to see the absolute delight in their eyes. He loved playing with them, imparting his love of history, and delighted in watching them in any activity.

Terry is survived by his loving wife Beverly, children Kris, Kim and her husband Vincent, grandchildren Drew and Amelia, sister Dorothy, and his beloved sheepdog Summer.
