Teresa V. Maviglia, 93, of Perth Amboy, passed away on February 22, 2026, at JFK Medical Center in Edison surrounded by her children. She was born in Settingiano, Italy, on January 19, 1933. She married her loving husband, Francesco, in December of 1960 and then immigrated to the United States in April of 1961 at the age of 28. She learned English by watching TV and became an American Citizen in 1970.  She was a cafeteria worker for food services at Perth Amboy High School for 10 years. Teresa was a loving Mother and Homemaker.  Teresa enjoyed cooking, baking and tending to her flower garden. She enjoyed music and loved singing.  What a voice she had. She would sing Happy Birthdays to anyone she knew.  Every holiday she would make all traditional meals and desserts.  The Cuzzuppa for Easter, Cudureddi for the Imaculata in December, Pignolata and Fraguni for Christmas along with other sweets. She loved her flowers and plants by filling pots and planters around the garden.  She was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish, Most Holy Rosary Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Francesco Maviglia, in 2006; and two brothers, Vincenzo and Giuseppi Cotroneo.

Teresa is survived by her son, Santo Maviglia, of Perth Amboy; daughter, Anna Maviglia, of Perth Amboy; brother, Martino Cotroneo, and his wife, Maria, of Brick Twp.; three nieces: Teresa Rambahjan, and her husband, Joe; Ida Viegas; and Caterina Cotroneo; a nephew, Antonio Cotroneo; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral Services will begin Thursday at 9:45 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Most Holy Rosary Church of the Good Shepherd Parish. Entombment will be in the St. James Mausoleum.
