Susan Helen Donnenwirth passed away on December 6 th in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born on March 23, 1943, in Perth Amboy, NJ, to Joe and Helen Buckewicz, she married Robert Theodore Donnenwirth on March 27 th , 1965, at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen, NJ. They lived in Edison, NJ.
After graduating from Metuchen High School, she attended Ohio University before her marriage. For 25 years she was a devoted wife and caregiver to her husband who was a disabled veteran. During this time, she served as PTA President and Edison Democratic Chairperson. After her husband's death, she worked as Deputy Clerk for Edison Township. Upon retirement, she moved to Greenville, NC, to enjoy her grandchildren.
Susan was predeceased by her husband, Robert, and parents, Joe and Helen Buckewicz. She is survived by her sister, Maryann Sullivan; son, Rob Donnenwirth and his wife, Rosy; granddaughters, Allie, Madison, and Carly Donnenwirth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dot and Bob Levay, Marion and Joe Figa, and John and Elizabeth Donnenwirth; and nieces and nephews, Tim and Elizabeth Sullivan, Nick Levay, Morgan and Alenka Figa, and Kelly and Carl Donnenwirth.
Funeral services will be held at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen, NJ, on Monday, December 14 at 10:15 am, followed by her burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at www.stfranciscathedral.org . Scroll down to the livestream link.
A virtual memorial service will be planned for a later date.
