Steven Xenakis, 65, of Sayreville, passed away suddenly on October 2, 2024, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Chios, Greece, to Stamatios and Angelik Xenakis on January 26, 1959, Steven immigrated to the United States with his family 58 years ago. Prior to his move to Sayreville 28 years ago, he resided in Perth Amboy and Keasbey.
Steven met and married the love of his life, Virginia "Ginny" (nee Bath) in 1980. They spent 44 years together, raising their two sons, Thomas and Michael, and their daughter, Angela. In 1980, Steven became co-owner of the family's business, the Superior Diner, in Perth Amboy with his brother, Paul. Steven was known to all who frequented the Diner where he could be found daily.
He leaves behind to cherish the memories created together his wife, Ginny; his daughter, Angela Graziano and her husband, Joe; his two sons, Thomas Xenakis and Michael Xenakis; his beloved grandchildren: Giovanni Paterno, Sophia, Nicholas, Juliana, and Luzuko Xenakis; and his brothers, Michael Xenakis and his wife, Hortenze, and Paul Xenakis and his wife, Victoria.
Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 9:15 AM followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Divine Liturgy at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 41-47 Wisteria Street, Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery.
