Steven G. Best, 68, of Edison, passed away at Roosevelt Care Center on February 26, 2023.

He was born on September 27, 1954 in West New York, NJ and grew up in East Brunswick, NJ. Steven graduated from the University of Dayton with a Political Science degree, but was scouted and recruited during college by the Chicago White Sox. Sadly, he never officially signed on due to an injury, but his love for sports continued. As a career, Steven was an independent diamond broker and spent much of his time in New York City and Providence, Rhode Island.

Steven was very well known by his family and friends for his love of the Beatles – especially Paul McCartney. He was always singing his favorite, "Hey Jude," even in his final days.

Steven is now resting in eternal peace with his parents, Kathy and Fred Best and dear brother, Scott Best.

He is survived by his former wife, Laurene Hartman and husband Jeff, of Red Bank, NJ; his daughter, Kendra Crusco and husband Brad, of Lake Forest, CA; his sister Barbara Grover and husband Rob, of Newport, Washington; and his brother Ronald Best, of Buford, Georgia; as well as other beloved family and friends.

Cremation was private. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
