Stephena Laday of Toms River, formerly of Edison, passed away on June 24, 2019. She was 88 years of age. She was born in Carteret and resided there until she turned 18.  She then moved to Perth Amboy, and later to Edison NJ were she raised her family. She moved to Toms River in 1999. Stephena was a Homemaker. After raising her family, in 1979 she went to work for Overture Incorporated and in 1984 she worked at JFK Medical Center as a administrative assistant.   Throughout her life, Stephena enjoyed gardening, reading and baking; she was able to perfect pumpkin pie.  There was nothing more special to her than enjoying time with her grandchildren.

Stephena was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, George Laday, in 2007; her twin boys, Andrew and George Laday, in 1955; her sisters, Anna Moryan in 1993 and Catherine Newman in 2004.

Surviving are her sons, George Laday and his wife, Hannah, of Round Pond, ME, and Craig Laday and his wife, Paige, of Millstone Township, NJ; her granddaughters, Courtney and Chelsea Laday; her grandsons, Brandon and Daniel Laday; and her sister, Olga Stevens, of Indiana and by many nieces and nephews that she adored.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Service of Divine Liturgy at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption in Perth Amboy. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm.  A Parastas service will take place at 7:00 pm.
