Stephen J. Steele, age 49 of Edison, died on Tuesday at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Johnstown, PA and had resided in Edison for most of his life.

Stephen was a graduate of Edison High School. He was predeceased by his father, John Steele, Sr.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Caroline Forbes Steele of Edison, his mother, Sally Ann Steele of Edison, his brother, John Steele, Jr. of Florida and his mother-in-law, Hazel Forbes of Edison. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Leslie Mudrick of Edison and Donna Matis of Edison, his nephew, his four nieces, one grand nephew and two grand nieces.
