Stephen P. Sromovsky, 92, of Edison, passed away at home on October 7, 2015. He was born in Perth Amboy on November 28, 1922. He resided in Edison for over 50 years. Stephen was an Electrician for Germinsky Electrical in South Plainfield. He was the Owner/Operator of Mike's Tavern in Perth Amboy. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church and a member of the Holy Spirit Senior Citizens. He was the past President and Treasurer of the Fords-Clara Barton Baseball League. Stephen was an avid gardener and had a great sense of humor. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in WWII.
Stephen was predeceased by his wife, Matilda Sromovsky, in 2013; two sisters, Margaret Sromovsky and Emily Price; and a brother, Joseph Sromovsky.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Capizzi and her husband, Thomas, of Bridgewater; and Judy Sromovsky and her husband, Frank Adornato, of Bridgewater; a son, Stephen Sromovsky and his wife, Caterina, of Jackson; two grandchildren, Stefanie Capizzi and Jessica Sromovsky.
Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral services will begin Monday 10 am at the funeral home, followed be a 10:30 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
