Stephen J. Greaux, 87, of Perth Amboy, died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Alameda Rehabilitation Center in Perth Amboy. Born in Perth Amboy, he was a life long resident.
He was a manager at Crown Cadillac in Plainfield for 42 years retiring in 1988. He was a communicant of St. Mary's RC Church in Perth Amboy and a member of the San Salvadore Senior's Club. He was a veteran of the Navy in WWII where he served in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters and in the South Pacific for 3½years. Stephen also served on P T boats and was involved in the invasion of Normandy.
Stephen is predeceased by sisters and brothers: Katherine Notaro, Jennie Rose, Edward, William, Robert, and Andrew Greaux; and grandson, Jason. He is survived by his wife, Doris M. Kelly Greaux, to whom he was married for 64 years; 2 sons, Stephen J. Jr. of Hamilton Square, and Timothy P.( Gigi) of Galloway; 4 grandchildren: Ryan, Michael, John and David; great-grandson, Jason; 2 sisters, Stacia Kenney of Freesport La., and Mary Merwin of Minn.
Funeral service willbe on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at 9:30 am from Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 424 East Ave., Perth Amboy, N.J., followed by 10 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary's R C Church. Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 8, from 3-7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to St. Mary's Church or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
