Obituary

Stephen George Cickay, Sr., 87, of Jupiter, FL, died December 24, 2010, at St Luke's Hospital In Jacksonville, FL. He was a loving father, grandfather and Cickay family patriarch.

He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, and had resided in Jupiter, FL since 1980. He was employed by the U.S. Federal Government as a Computer Systems Analyst/Manager at Raritan Arsenal in Edison, NJ for 20 years and at Ft. Monmouth, NJ, for 16 years before retiring in 1978. Afterwards, he worked as a real estate agent in Florida.
He was a former communicant of Our Lady of Hungary Church in Perth Amboy. His favorite hobby was traveling extensively throughout the world.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WW II and served as a Radioman aboard four aircraft carriers, including the U.S.S. Hornet. He was wounded in action and received several medals and citations, including a personal commendation from Admiral W.F. Halsey. He was a member of the Sgt. John B. Egan VFW Post # 663 in Perth Amboy.

He is predeceased by his first wife Frances Cickay, his second wife Eileen Cickay, his brother Joseph, and sisters Mary Cohen, Rose Hull, and Helen Young.

He is survived by his children Karen, Jeanne, and Stephen, their spouses, and by his grandchildren Rachel, Adam, and Jessica. He is also survived by his sister Irene Pakala and her husband John of Freehold Township, NJ, and numerous extended family members/Godchildren from his siblings and from both marriages.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, December 31, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. from the FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hungary Church in Perth Amboy.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery in Fords.
Visitation will be on Thursday December 30, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.
