Obituary

Stanley F. Wernoski, 91, of Edison, died April 27, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Barnesboro, PA, Stanley lived in Edison for more than 60 years. He was the Superintendent of Maintenance for Edison Township Board of Education, retiring in 1991 after 25 years of dedicated service. Stanley was a WWII veteran and served as the Tank Commander of Headquarters 626th Tank Division Battalion as a Tech Sergeant E7. He served in the European Theatre and was a recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, A. Eleanor, in 2007. He is survived by his children: Kenneth Wernowski of Edison, Lorraine Prasnal and her husband Dick of Fords, and Richard S. Wernoski and Sharon of PA. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Sherry Geardino and her husband Stan, Rick Wernoski and his wife Colleen, Susan Prasnal, and Eric Prasnal; five great-grandchildren: Chelsie, Rebecca, Justin, Riley, and Zachary; and his faithful dog, Nippy (aka Metchie).

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 9:30 am from the FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ, followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace RC Church. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 29, 2011, from 2:00-8:00 pm.
