Stanley Z. Sidlowski, 80, of Edison, New Jersey, passed away at home on October 5, 2022. Born on April 21, 1942 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Stanley was a graduate of Linden High School, Class of 1959, and served in the US Air Force. Following his military service, he became an engineer at Amtrak, where he worked for 20 years.

Stanley was a longstanding member of the Edison Elks and a member of the American Legion. He loved boating and fishing and spent many happy hours with his family out on the water. He was also a hockey fan and enjoyed cheering on his son, and later his grandson, at the ice rink. Stanley was an amateur mechanic and could often be found tinkering with the various projects he brought home – motorbikes, boats, model trains, and more. He was the family's go-to when an appliance stopped working and once successfully rewired his daughter-in-law's hairdryer! Stanley was also much loved by his family's dogs, as he always had a treat (or five) in his pocket. He was happiest when surrounded by family, a plate of pierogi in front of him, and a glass of wine in his hand.

He was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Sidlowski.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Irene Sidlowski, his son, Michael Sidlowski, and his wife, Kerin, of Warren, New Jersey; his daughter, Janet Rosen, and her husband, Eric, of Holmdel, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Kathryn, Aidan, Amelia, Kyle and Sydney; sister, Martha Rossi, of Washington, D.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840 on Monday, October 10, 2022, 4-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 am at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
