Stan Spiridon, 62, formerly of East Windsor, passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 25, 2011, at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Stan was born in Newark and resided in East Windsor the last 18 years. He was a Math teacher and later a Vice Principal for a combined 37 years of service at Middlesex High School before retiring in 2008. Stan coached girl's and boy's basketball, and girls softball at the high school from 1972 thru 2004 winning the Central NJ Softball Championships consecutively from 2000 thru 2004. Under his direction, they also won the State Softball Championship in 2004. That same year, Stan was named the Home News Tribune Softball Coach of the Year. Stan was presently coaching girl's Junior Varsity Softball at the Allentown High School. He was an avid Duke University Basketball fan.
Stan leaves behind his wife of 18 years, Barbara Spiridon; his daughter, Kristen Spiridon and her husband Patrick Hanudel of Savannah, GA; his step-daughter, Jennifer Littlewood-Tedesco and her husband Jonathan of Hamilton; and many more loved ones.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 1, 2011, from 3:00-6:00 pm, with a memorial service at 4:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863.
