Solida Hernandez Vinas, 78, of Perth Amboy, died on Friday, June 11, 2010, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway after a long illness with her 7 children at her side.

Solida was born in the Dominican Republic. She moved to Perth Amboy in the 1960's. She was an assistant at the Child Day Care Center for the Puerto Rican Association in Perth Amboy. She was a member of St. Mary R.C. Church in Perth Amboy.

Solida is survived by her 3 daughters: Mery M. Vinas of Fords, Indira D.C. Vinas, and Belkis D.C. Vinas of Perth Amboy; her 4 sons: Yony L. Hernandez and wife Ana of Perth Amboy, Fausto R. Hernandez and wife Berenice, and Tony Vinas and wife Mary both of Pennsauken, and Rene and Rosa Hernandez of Perth Amboy; her 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Wedmesday at a time to be announced by the FLYNN AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 424 East Avenue, Perth Amboy, followed by an _____ am Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary R.C. Church on the corner of Mechanic Street and Center Street in Perth Amboy, NJ, 08861. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be on Monday, June 14, 2010, from 7-9 pm and again on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
