Shirley Hanily, 75, of Middletown, DE, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.

She was born August 21, 1949, and resided for most of her life in Edison, NJ and had resided in Middletown, DE for the last 8 years.

She was a communicant of St Paul's RC Church in Delaware City DE. and  had been a former communicant of St Matthew RC Church in Edison.

She was a retired Human Resources Manager for Owens Illinois which later became Graham Packaging in Edison for 35 years.
She was a former member of the Edison Boys Baseball Ladies Auxiliary.

Served on the board of the Edison Jets Football league,

Shirley was an avid golfer and member of the Back Creek Golf Club of Middletown DE playing in the ladies league and couples league.

She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Helen Hughes.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 36 years, William Hanily, her son, David Zampella and his wife Michele, of Edison, her stepchildren; Michelle Innocenti and her husband Rudy of Edison, William J Hanily of landing, NJ and Michael Hanily and his wife Christine of Canton, GA and her 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Visitation will be on Tuesday April 15, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home 23 Ford Ave. Fords NJ 08863.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 8:45 am from the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Matthew the Apostle RC Church in Edison. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ
