Shirley Ann Doerer of Fords, passed away at Princeton Medical Center at Plainsboro on Monday, February 17, 2025. She was 89.

Born and raised in Summit Hill, PA Shirley lived in Fords for over 80 years. Before retiring she was an insurance claims adjustor for Great West Insurance Co. in Piscataway.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Joseph C. Doerer and children, Chris Ann Doerer and Joanne Johnson. Surviving are her children: Marie and her husband Karl Mathews; Frank Doerer and his wife Carrie-Anne; and Debbie and her husband Joe Fortenboher.  Also surviving are her son-in-law Steve Johnson, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit at Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords on Friday, February 21, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 pm with an entombment following at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
