Sharon "Sherry" Smith, 65, life-long resident of Fords, entered eternal rest at home surrounded by her loving family on June 1, 2023,
Sharon was born in Plainfield, NJ on October 8, 1957. She was a homemaker and a professional mother to all who entered her home. Sharon was the past president of the Fords Clara Barton Baseball League, a member of the Irish American Club, and a proud Columbiette of the Knights of Columbus. She was also the PTA President at Holy Trinity and a Girl Scout Leader. Alongside these groups, Sharon enjoyed being part of the frequent global shopper's club with her best friend, Jill Freeman, bowling as a Leneva bowler, and playing cards surrounded by her dearest friends and family on Wednesday nights.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gregory Konya and her sister, Deborah Konya.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Keith Smith Sr., and her children: Michelle Mason and her husband, Michael, Keith Smith Jr. and his wife Margie, Jeffery Smith, and Leanne; her brother William Konya, her sister, Susan Sepulveda, and her Aunt June Hunte. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Keith III, Kyle, Theresa, Sammie, and Mikey behind.
Sharon was loved and adored by many. Family, friends, and anyone who had the pleasure to know Sharon was touched by her kindness and caring nature. She was an angel in the shape of a wife, a mother, a sister, a Nan, and a friend. Sharon will be lovingly remembered for her heart of gold.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on June 6, 2023, starting at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 am.
Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ.
