Sharon D.
Hoffer
September 15, 1970 – January 29, 2023
Sharon Diane Hoffer, age 52, passed away on January 29, 2023. She was a beloved sister, aunt and daughter to John and Elaine Hoffer. She grew up in Edison, NJ, where she played piano since age 4, attended dance classes, and sang in the school and church choir. As an accomplished singer, she performed our National Anthem at her high school graduation. Sharon was also a Hugh O'Brien Foundation ambassador, where she participated and sang at the Albert Schweitzer awards dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. When she wasn't singing, she was busy in the kitchen making home cooked meals and baking her mom's favorite Hungarian cookies. She loved taking cooking classes, whenever she found the time to learn new techniques and try new foods. Sharon loved Egypt and was fascinated by its history and art; she had many pieces in her home reflecting this. She also adored and collected. The Penguin symbolizes adaptability, closeness, and family, three attributes Sharon lived her life by.
Sharon attended Kean University, where she continued her love for history and appreciation of various cultures. Recently, she worked as an Office Manager and Human Resource Specialist at On-Site Fleet Service, Inc in East Brunswick, NJ, where she supported the new hiring process as an essential and joyous team member.
Mostly, she was a devoted aunt and Godmother who created a nickname for everyone. Her nephew was affectionately known as "Pumpkin", and her niece, "Sweet Pea." She looked forward to visiting her niece and nephew, always attending their sporting and school events. She instilled in them patience and love.
Sharon leaves behind her sister, Christine Molinaro, her brother-in-law, Rick Molinaro and her nephew and niece, Matthew and Kate Molinaro, and many loving cousins.
Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863 on Thursday February 2, 2023, 3-7 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Sharon Hoffer to the NJ Eastern Star Home, 111 Finderne Ave. Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
