Dr. Seth Warren Silverman, MD, 63, of Houston, TX, formerly of Metuchen, passed away on May 4, 2017, at his home. He was born on November 23, 1953, in Perth Amboy, NJ. He was a Board Certified Psychiatrist whose specialties included child, adult, addiction and forensic counseling. Seth was a graduate of Metuchen High School, Brandeis University, Rutgers Medical School, and was a University of Washington Fellow.
In both Seth's professional and personal life, he was dedicated to helping others in a selfless way. His beliefs were a driving factor – compassion toward the relief of suffering for PTSD affected individuals and the relief of suffering for mistreated adolescents. He was globally recognized in the medical and legal communities.
Seth was predeceased by his father, Melvin Silverman.
He is survived by his mother, Irma Lee Silverman; who was erroneously reported as predeceased on May 10, 2017; brothers, Gregg J. Silverman, MD; and Brett N. Silverman.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Samptown/Children of Israel Cemetery in South Plainfield.
Seth will be missed by the world.
