Seth Edmund Nelsen, born July 24th, 1941, passed away on Friday, June 19th, surrounded by his family who loved him. He proudly served in the United States Army as a communication specialist and was honorably discharged on March 31st, 1965. He later served 27 years as a senior correction officer at East Jersey State Prison and was part of the SOG operation. A man who loved life, Seth had a passion for music, tinkering with old cars and machinery, especially fixing lawn mowers and snowblowers. He was a devoted animal lover, feeding birds and caring for stray cats, but nothing compared to the love he had for his German Shepherd dog, Lila. Above all, he cherished his family and his wife, Mary. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Nelsen, daughter, Lorilee Neesan, grandson, Johnny of South Plainfield, and sister, Karen. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
