Segundo Perez Jr., 65, of Edison, passed away at Care One in Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy on December 24, 2014. He was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico on March 9, 1949. Segundo was a College Administrator at New Jersey City University in Jersey City. He was a communicant of our Lady of Peace Church in Fords. He served in the US Navy. Segundo received his Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University in 1974 and his Master's in 1977. Over the course of Segundo's career and volunteer services he was honored by various organizations for his advisory support and contribution to Hispanic education initiatives.
Segundo was predeceased by his daughter Laura Perez in 1991.
He is survived by his wife, of 34 years, Evelyn Muniz-Perez of Edison; daughter, Alicia Mendez and her husband, Luis of Freehold; son, Ricardo Perez and his financee, Melissa of Fords; brother, Hector "Ken" Perez of Helmetta, NJ; grandchildren, Elijah, Ricardo, Nicholai and A'Leila Azucar and Emme Mendez; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863, Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral services will begin Wednesday 10 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery.
