Active in the community, Sandy served as Woodbridge Township Councilwoman, 3rd Ward Committeewoman, and Vice-President of the Port Reading Senior Club. She was active in numerous charitable events, including Relay for Life. Sandy was honored as the Mayor's Advisory Committee Volunteer of the Year in 2015.

Sandy was a people person who always thought of others before herself. She had a heart of gold. She enjoyed a little bit of wine and occasional trips to Monmouth Park Racetrack and Atlantic City with her "Port Reading Crew". Still, what Sandy cherished most was the time she spent with her daughter, son, and 5 grandchildren. She was proud of all their accomplishments.

Sandy was predeceased by her mother, Angeline Brucker, who passed away in November, 2010.

Surviving Sandy are Bob Beni, daughter Robin Giraldo of Old Bridge, son Robert Beni of Hillsborough, and her five adored grandchildren, Ryne, Lauren, Sam, Michael, and Cassie.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 14th, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 15th, at 10 a.m. in the  Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 28 S. Fourth St., Fords, NJ 08863. Family and friends are welcome to gather in the funeral home starting at 9 a.m. prior to church. Interment will follow at Hazel Wood Cemetery in Colonia.
