Samuel D'Amico, 90, of Hopelawn, passed away on October 9, 2015, at JFK Haven Hospice in Edison. He was born in Perth Amboy and resided in Hopelawn for the past 57 years. Samuel was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1944. He was the Owner/Operator of D'Amico Fuel Oil in Hopelawn and was previously employed as a Pipefitter with Revlon. Samuel was a communicant of Good Shepherd Parish, Holy Rosary Church. He served as President of COPO (Catholic One Partner Organization) in Woodbridge and enjoyed bowling, dancing, and traveling to Atlantic City.
Samuel was predeceased by his wife, Marie D'Amico (nee Janucci) , in 1980; his brothers, John and Angelo D'Amico; his sisters, Catherine Zaglik and Rose Baginsky; and his son-in-law, John Hunnicutt.
He is survived by his son, Sam D'Amico of Washington, DC; his daughters, Jamie Blockus and her husband, Philip, of Fords and Donna Hunnicutt of Iselin; his three grandchildren: Timothy, Jessica and Christopher; and his companion, Marie Bogdan.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ 08863 followed by a 9:30 am memorial mass at the Parish of the Good Shepherd, Most Holy Rosary Church. Memorial visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Cremation was private.
