Obituary

Salvatore Vaticano, 65, of Woodbridge, passed peacefully at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, on Thursday, December 16, 2021.
Born in Perth Amboy and formerly of Edison, he had resided in Woodbridge for the last 25 years.
He was a graduate of J.P. Stevens High School with the Class of 1975.
He was the owner and operator of Vaticano Shoe Repair in Woodbridge NJ, the family business for over 65 years, which started as White Ring Shoe Service and later moved to its current location in Woodbridge.
Salvatore was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Paulo and Angelina Vaticano and his beloved sister, Theresa Greenstein.
He leaves behind, his beloved fiancée of 5 years, Laura Botwin, and his 5 beloved siblings, Domenica Vaticano of West Palm Beach, FL, Carmelo Vaticano and his wife Jean, of Edison, Vincent "Jay" Vaticano of Edison, John Vaticano and his wife Michelle, of Bartonsville, PA and Angela Vaticano of Cape Coral, FL, his brother-in-law, David Greenstein of Forked River, NJ, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave. Fords, NJ 08863 with a funeral service at 8 pm with the Very Rev. Anthony M. Sirianni officiating.
Cremation will follow privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Salvatore's memory to either the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
