Obituary

Sabatino Arthur DeBlassi , 87 , of Hamilton (formally of Edison) , passed away in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton , NJ , on December 12 , 2020. H e was born on October 2 4 , 19 33 , in Springfield, NJ . Sabatino proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, receiving three medals, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Army Occupation Medal in Germany. He served as the general manager of the Grandview Heights Apartments in Edison, NJ for over 42 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer , who enjoyed playing many local courses with family and friends.  He and his wife enjoyed traveling taking trips to Italy, Ireland, Canada and across the United States.

He was predeceased by his parents, Sabatino DeBlasio, and Maria ( DelTosto ) DeBlasio; and twelve brothers and sisters.

Sabatino is survived by his wife, Patricia (Riley) DeBlassi ; his daughter, Jacqueline and her husband Frank Cancellieri and their son, Michael; his son, Victor DeBlassi and his wife Deborah and their children, Nicholas and Deanna (beloved "Nonno" to his grandchildren); his brother, Arthur DeBlasio and his wife Lenore. Sabatino was beloved by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, 10:30 am, at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, Fords, NJ.

G raveside service will be on Tuesday , December 15 , 2020, 12: 15 pm, in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway , NJ.

In Lieu of Flowers, Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Sabatino's name.

All services are being entrusted to Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863.
