Ruth D. (nee: Levine ) Penn, 99 years, of Moneta, VA, formerly of Perth Amboy, and Fords, NJ passed peacefully at home on Thursday, September 25, 2014


She was born in Somerville, NJ on November 24, 1914.


Ruth retired in 1989, after over 15 years as a bookkeeper with World Carpets in Avenel, NJ


She was a member of the sisterhood of Congregation Shaarey Tefiloh, the B'nai B'rith and the YMHA and was past president of the Gottsfeld Chapter of the Mizrachii Women, all of Perth Amboy.


She was predeceased by her husband, Irving Meyer Penn, who died in 1997 and her grandson, Jaret Michael Penn, who died in 2000.


Ruth leaves behind, her three beloved children, Jack Alan Penn and his wife Susan, of Morganville, Stewart Penn and his wife Ellen, of Long Branch, and Deanna Cebulash and her husband Philip Sheridan of Moneta, VA, her six grandchildren, Glen Cebulash and his wife Rachael Stanzione, Benjamin Cebulash and his wife Keri, Jeanette Cebulash Sela and her husband Yair Sela, Stacy Haddox, Jennifer Penn and her husband Yale Bahar and Melissa Penn Moorer and her husband Robert Moorer, her twelve great grandchildren, her brother, Milton Levine and his wife Pearl, of Delray Beach, FL and her sister, Florence Selesnick of Las Vegas, NV, and her two sisters-in-law, Faye Schreier and her husband Saul, of Somerset, NJ and Sandy Penn of Lakewood, NJ

Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge.


Shiva will be observed on Sunday evening and Monday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stewart's home.
