Russell Saunderson, 73, of the Highlands, passed away on April 6, 2025, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born in Elizabeth on April 28, 1951. Russ was an Independent Insurance Agent. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Class of 1969.  Russ was a member of the Hubs. He enjoyed beer, fantasy football, and spending time at the beach. Russ was a fan of the NLF, particularly Las Vegas Raiders; he also liked Horse Racing.

Russ was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Saunderson in 1984 and a sister, Cathy Baptista in 2025.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cathy Cacchione, of the Highlands; a brother, Warren Saunderson Jr., of Edison; two stepsisters, Cindy Lillis, of Ridgewood, and Chriss Almasy, and her husband, Donald, of Lavalette, and two cats, Sammi and Stasha.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery. A repast will follow at the Hubs club in Perth Amboy.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Russell's name may made to the ASPCA or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
