Obituary

Rudolph V. "Rudy" Valentino, Jr., 57, of Edison, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Plainfield and resided in Edison most of his life.

He worked as a tree surgeon and general foreman with Tree Preservation and Asplundh Tree Co. for 25 years. Rudy enjoyed boating, fishing, NASCAR races, working in his yard, and his faithful companion and dog, Molly. He was a wonderful and caring coach at the North Edison little league, a great friend, father, and husband. He truly was the "go to" man for everyone and we will all miss him greatly.

He was predeceased by his mother, Gloria McCluney; his father-in-law, Frank "Sharky" Novis; and brother-in-law, David Novis. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Donna Novis Valentino; loving children, Rudy V. and his wife Rosemary Nolan- Valentino of Point Pleasant Boro, his "little girl" Kristin to whom he was a great father; his father, Rudolph V. Sr. and his wife Ruth of Danville, Va.; sister, Lorrie Valentino and her husband Rex Weimer of Eagle River, Alaska; mother-in-law, Dolores Novis; sisters-in-law, Cindy Matula and her husband Michael, and Denise Stremlo; brother-in-law, Ronald Novis and his wife Michelle; and also 11 cherished nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at a time to be announced from Flynn and Son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, N.J. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Condolence messages may be sent to our web address at: www.flynnfuneral. com.
